A progressive new offering available to students with prior timber framing experience ready to take their timber framing to the next level of confidence and competency.
In 1981, I worked along side Masahiko-san, a Japanese temple builder. He blew my mind. In fact, the best timber framers in North America (with me on the team) were all transported by his humility and skill. Time seemed to stop when he “worked.” From that day forward I viscerally understood that timber framing is sacred and limitless; it’s a way of life!
Although learning any craft is never ending, every chapter opens a new door of possibilities that inspires even deeper appreciation, joy, and satisfaction.
This program is an excellent opportunity to work hand in hand with timber framing professionals to cut, assemble, and erect a timber frame.
We focus on:
- executing exceptionally tight joinery,
- teamwork,
- planning and leadership skills,
- safe assembly and crane erecting.
