An Ambassador’s View
For 4 weeks of the most recent EcoNest summer intensive and boot camp, I was fortunate to work again side by side with Robert Laporte and a group of his eager apprentices, students and volunteers. Next to the EcoNest home and headquarters in Ashland, we built Robert’s new shop/garage, which will also house future workshops on Paradise Lane.
This was my 5th building experience with EcoNest, and I would like to share with you some of my observations:
- Robert has a very systematic approach and teaches how to set yourself up for success.
- Each person is empowered to get out of the training what they came here for.
- To me, building a natural home is contagious and most uplifting.
- EcoNest’s “Building the Builder” is the system to achieve predictable, professional results with a previously unskilled labor force.
- The students I met at EcoNest are amazing individuals who are motivated to make a difference on this planet.
If any of this resonates with you, I encourage you to learn more about how you can increase your knowledge to build a healthy natural building for your family. My wife and I are planning to create a “backyard sanctuary” next to our home in West Linn by Portland in 2015. Feel free to call me with any questions.
I hope to see you at a future EcoNest workshop and share the joy.
