About this Affiliate
Dillon Creasy grew up in the Klamath Mountains of northern California. His family embraced a simple lifestyle, living on an off-grid homestead. Since he could get around, he loved being in the woods. Exploring, cutting firewood and helping to manage the forest were early childhood experiences. He naturally developed a connection with the beauty and utility of wood and eventually became a carpenter.
After working with a very experienced local builder for 6 years, he set out to find his own path as a builder. He became a licensed contractor and stayed busy doing mostly remodels and additions. Throughout this time there was something missing in his aspiration to be the best builder he could be. He felt a strong urge to dig deeper as a carpenter and create more soulful structures. In time he came across the EcoNest website and found the methods to be personally fulfilling while promoting a healthy respect for the natural materials. The craftsmanship in cutting tradional mortise and tenon joinery and the use of beautiful natural materials readily available in his region to create comfortable, nurturing homes resonated deeply with him.
In the spring of 2013 he found time to attend a three-week intensive training in Ashland with Robert and company. Immediately following the training he put what he had learned to work and built a timber frame, wood chip clay sauna nestled above the Klamath River. After seeing the beauty and strength of the local materials used as well as Dillon's pride in workmanship, the owners commissioned him to build an EcoNest home on the property. Like the sauna, all of the timbers were milled and planed on site. The building, on its way to completion, is shaping up to be a very special home and has earned Dillon the status of EcoNest Affiliate.
Dillon has a general contractors license and is the owner/operator of Klamath Construction. He is based out of Chico and on the Klamath in Somes Bar part time. With his passion and commitment to craft he is becoming known as a quality natural home builder in Northern California and we are proud to have him on board as an EcoNest Affiliate.
